Sensitivity test to assess the patient's ability to distinguish two separate points on the skin. The instrument, an ABS compass with two pointed ends, is used to assess the innervation of a skin area. The test is based on the ability to discriminate whether or not two objects touching the skin in very close proximity are two points and not just one. A scale in centimetres engraved on the aluminium plate allows the degree of proximity/distance of the two points to be identified.
